BarMUN

Dear Future Delegates,

It is with great excitement that I invite you to the third Boston Area Model United Nations Conference! Our conference will be held from September 30 to October 3, 2010, on Boston University's scenic campus.

BarMUN III promises to be an unforgettable experience. Unlike your typical Model UN conference, BarMUN prides itself on its fully integrated tracks, in which all of the committees can interact with one another. This approach to crisis better simulates how events happen in the real world and their ripple effect. Unique actors collide on a global scale, highlighting how malleable history truly is. Delegates will be challenged to forget convention and recognize their true potential as debaters, negotiators and agitators as they influence world events throughout the conference.

It is in this spirit that I am proud to introduce something new this year - BarMUN: Historical. BarMUN: Historical applies the same philosophy and dedication of BarMUN to the year 1694. Powers of varying legitimacy interact and fight to gain, or maintain, power and influence. This is the first fully integrated historical track ever run at a conference, and we are sure that it will live up to expectations.

I hope you will start the year off with a bang by joining us in the fall; I truly look forward to meeting all of you. Please do not hesitate to contact the secretariat with any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Jessica Merrell
Secretary-General
