BarMUN: Historical brings us to the year 1694, where the world is becoming more globalized by the day, and nations scramble to adjust to the balance of power. World players are emerging and redefining what it means to be an empire, as well as sovereignty itself. The formidable Mughal Empire's long-established dominance in south-east Asia is being threatened by Britain and its ever-expanding trade routes while domestic politics continue to revolutionize the island nation. France continues to clash with its perennial rival in its quest for empire, but must also protect its new domain from the natives of the New World. And in a world so dependant on maritime travel, is it any wonder that piracy is ever-present on the high-seas, and evolving into a way of life? BarMUN:Historical will show that the past and present aren't so different after all, with empires, nations and rogue groups trying to come out on top in a constantly shrinking world.
