Briannya Evans

Director-General

Class of 2027

In Miami, Florida, born and raised, by the beach is where Briannya spent most of her days. Chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool, Briannya didn't join MUN until she came to school. Studying International Relations and Public Policy Analysis, it only made sense for Briannya to join the MUN@BU travel team, of which she is now an active member. Briannya has served as an Under-Secretary General for the previous iteration of BarMUN and a Chair for BarMUN's sister conference, BosMUN. Outside of BUIAA, Briannya is currently a member of Sisters United and Soulaan. Volunteering under her local School Board Member and as a tutor for a local elementary school, Briannya enjoys collaborating and meeting new people. Briannya is honored and ecstatic to serve as your Director-General for BarMUN XVIII!

David Sanchez

Under-Secretary-General of Traditional Crises

Class of 2027

From the deserts of Hobbs, New Mexico, to the snow slush of Boston, David is no stranger to rather silly weather. Having fled to Boston in pursue of his BA in Linguistics and Political Science with minors in International Relations, Economics, and Public Health, David had no idea the significance of a simple flyer in his dorm common room. Never having done Model UN, he quickly immersed himself during his spring semester freshman year, where he served as Vice Chair for BosMUN XXIII Press Corps. Going on to make lifelong friends with his fellow dais, he went on to staff BarMUN XVII and BosMUN XXIV. Outside of the world of MUN, David is an active member of Alianza Latina, works as an RA, and enjoys a heavy study sesh at Mugar. Outside the BU bubble, he is an avid concertgoer (rip his savings account), loves a good frolic in the city, and enjoys setting his phone to Do Not Disturb while listening to Kali Uchis. David is truly honored to serve as your Under-Secretary-General for BarMUN XVIII and is excited to meet y’all!

Besides BarMUN, Miya is also involved in the Boston University International Affairs Association through its competitive travel team, MUN@BU, and as an Associate Editor for the Asia section of the International Relations Review, a student-run policy journal. Miya is also a part of the Alpha-Upsilon pledge class for Delta Phi Epsilon Gamma Chapter, a premier international business and foreign service fraternity.

Cole Nemes

Director of Operations

Class of 2026

From Long Beach Island, New Jersey, Cole’s shift to Boston was drastic but was more than rewarding. Studying Political Science with a minor in History, he plans to attend law school after undergrad, either somewhere in Washington D.C. or Boston itself. Having been a logistics staffer for BosMUN XXIII and BarMUN XVII, Cole is familiar with the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making these conferences the best they can be. Aside from his role as Director of Operations, Cole writes for the Boston Political Review, is a member of the Mock Mediation Club, and was the Treasurer of the BU Pre-Law Society. In his summers, he’s an ocean lifeguard at his hometown and is an avid swimmer. Cole understands his important position and will strive to make BarMUN XVIII run as smoothly as possible while having fun along the way.

David Marin

Director of Finance

Class of 2028

David Alexander Marín is a first-year in Pardee School of Global Studies and College of Arts and Sciences majoring in International Relations and Economics, as well as a minoring in Philosophy. He is also in the Kilachand Honors College. He is originally from sunny Miami, Florida but has his roots in Colombia. He got involved in Model U.N. in College, with this being his first year.

He decided to pursue International Relations because of his love for the world around him but more specifically, he wants to find ways to uplift his fellow Latin American community. He especially believes that he can do so through understanding the financial and economic situations of his home region, which is why he also decided to pursue Economics. He joined the Boston University International Affairs Association (BUIAA) because he knew it was a way to combine and put into practice these two fields, especially through the MUN@BU travel team, BosMUN, and BarMUN.

Outside of BUIAA, David is an Admissions Ambassador at the BU Admissions Office, Freshman Representative for Alianza Latina, and an Ambassador for the Kilachand Honors College. He also loves to spend time with his friends and family, play racquetball, make others laugh, and collect pins.
