About the Boston University International Affairs Association
The Boston University International Affairs Association is the largest undergraduate association at Boston University, with its home in the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies. With over 450 members across five unique branches, our association prides itself on being an interdisciplinary environment where students become the leaders of tomorrow.
Better known as BUIAA, the association formed in 1973 with a mission to promote diplomacy, cultural dialogue, and international education. In the fifty years since, BUIAA has produced alumni that have gone on to change the world in positive ways.
BUIAA includes branches that connect students within the university to each other, their distinguished alumni, academic leaders, and both local and international communities. The International Relations Review, published and copyrighted every semester, is a premier academic journal written by undergraduate students, with previous issues being housed in the Library of Congress. BUIAA’s service organization, the Students for the United Nations (SUN), is a UNA-USA affiliated organization dedicated to the implementation of the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals. The association also hosts conferences for Model United Nations delegates in high school (BosMUN) and college (BarMUN), as well as its own competitive Model United Nations team, MUN@BU.
