When petitioning for divorce from the Roman Catholic Pope, the king was excommunicated from the religion. However, where the excommunication sought to disempower him, it actually emboldened him. It became the spark of the English reformation.
This committee follows Henry’s closest friends and advisors throughout the formation of the Supreme Church of England, as Britain is wracked by disunity and religious turmoil.
