It’s 1197, and the Norwegian Civil War has been waging for 67 years. As a result of social unrest and unclear succession laws, the war split Norway into two groups. Birkenbeiners, lawless and poor rebels, wish to change the social order. Baglers, aristocratic conservatives, want to maintain it. In pursuit of power, Kings of questionable status and quality sit on the throne, propelled by little less than the strength of the sides that support them.

As both sides attempt to take hold of the center of power, capitals are moved, kings deposed, and alliances made. Birkenbeiners and Baglers alike know that the result of the war will forever shape the Norwegian monarchy. Which side will push the country forward into the new century? What does the future of Scandinavia look like?

Birkenbeiners, a new age is upon us! It is your responsibility to keep your king on the throne and control the center of power. Keep control over Norway and decide it’s fate and future.
