Delegate Code of Conduct
This form includes everything delegates will need to know for BarMUN weekend, including committee locations, rules of procedure, conference regulations, travel information, and more.

Feedback
Delegates may provide feedback to the Secretariat through any of these three means: in-room feedback with the Under-Secretaries-General (or another Secretariat member), head delegate feedback sessions, and the BarMUN XVII anonymous feedback form.
In-room feedback will occur periodically throughout the conference, specifically on Friday and Saturday.
Head delegates may attend their dedicated feedback sessions on Thursday and Friday evening. The Secretary-General, Director-General, Director of Delegate Affairs, and Chief of Staff will all be present at these sessions.
The Anonymous Feedback Form may be submitted at any time, by any delegate, to privately raise an issue in their committee or the conference at large. This form will be monitored throughout the duration of the conference, and the Secretariat will address the issues in due course.
Decorum Policies
COVID-19: BarMUN XVII follows all current Massachusetts Commonwealth policies regarding COVID-19. Masks are optional in all committee rooms, and delegates who choose to wear one may do so. Please respect your fellow delegates’ decisions regarding their own masking preferences. COVID tests will not be required to check in for BarMUN XVII. If you begin showing symptoms of COVID-19, get tested immediately and inform the Director of Delegate Affairs. You should self-isolate between the time that you get tested and the time you receive your result.
Dress Code: Western Business Attire will be the expected dress code for delegates and staff for all committee sessions, including the Sunday session. Delegates from military academies may wear proper uniforms as they deem appropriate.
Attendance: Delegates must attend all committee sessions — including the Sunday session — in order to be considered for awards.
Please review the BarMUN XVII Delegate Code of Conduct at the top of the page for additional policies, including those regarding academic dishonesty / plagiarism, illicit substances, et cetera.
Technology Policy
For all committees:
Delegates should limit the use of cell phones for any kind of communication, including calls and texts, while their committee is in session. If an emergency arises, the delegate should leave the room quietly to respond to the message.
All Slack workspaces are monitored by your committee’s staff and members of the BarMUN XVII Secretariat. Inappropriate content found by a dais or Secretariat member, either independently or after being notified by a delegate, will be promptly investigated. If the contents of the message or file warrant it — and at the sole discretion of the BarMUN XVII Secretariat — the delegate may be warned, removed from the Slack workspace, or ejected from committee entirely without being considered for awards. Serious violations may result in the offending delegate’s entire delegation being disqualified. Furthermore, only those delegates competing in a particular committee will be allowed to utilize that committee’s Slack workspace during BarMUN weekend; contact data provided by delegates will be cross-checked with the workspace’s member list, and all discrepancies will result in that person’s removal from the workspace.
For the Double-Delegate General Assembly (INTERPOL):
All draft resolutions and working papers will be written digitally and should be sent to the dais through Slack.
In the front room, technology is only permitted during unmoderated caucuses and during Presentation/Q&A periods, except in extreme cases as designated by the committee chair(s).
In the back room, technology is permitted at any time.
For ECOSOC Committees:
All draft resolutions and working papers will be written digitally and should be sent to the dais through Slack.
Technology is only permitted during unmoderated caucuses and during Presentation/Q&A periods, except in extreme cases as designated by the committee chair(s).
For Specialized Committees:
Any draft resolutions and working papers will be written digitally and should be sent to the dais through Slack.
Any directives will be written on paper.
Technology is only permitted during unmoderated caucuses and during Presentation/Q&A periods, except in extreme cases as designated by the committee chair(s).
For Crisis Committees:
All crisis notes will be written on paper.
All directives and JPDs will be written on paper. Notepads will be provided to each delegate at the start of the conference.
Only the OpenAI Board of Directors crisis committee will utilize Slack for certain elements, as specified in the committee logistics; however, crisis notes for this committee will still be on paper. Join by visiting the Slack hub below. If you don’t have access to this document, speak with your head delegate or email affairs@barmun.org.
